Ahhh . . . Spring

So hopeful, this coming of Spring, with warmer breezes to soothe the heart and the soul. Nature beckons us all to awaken, to start moving, to start thinking about a new beginning, a new year in which to sow our seeds of hope and of love yet once again.

To me, the new year or new cycle always begins with spring . . . an involuntary reminder during this holy season, strengthening the faith within me; and from nature, the ever evolving new hope, new incredible scented flowers in the gardens, new goals, new belief in ourselves and our limitless potential.

I can't wait for the first Robin to return. It is such a happy day for me when I suddenly and unexpectedly hear a loud welcoming "chirp" and looking around, I usually spot it in the wild cherry tree, or sitting high up proud as punch, in the graceful Catalpa tree.

The geese are starting to come back from south of the border as well. On a large pond near my office windows I eagerly await for the return of a pair who generally raise 5 or 6 goslings during the summer months. Their grace as they float atop the water, performing water ballet is serenity in motion, a kind of summer evening twilight "zen". When the goslings start to look like their parents, and we can no longer tell them apart, we know a new season soon begins as the goslings, now full adult geese, fly south with enormous power, confidence, bravery, camaraderie, cheering one another on in a miracle of motivation and formation. They travel without "triptiks" money, visas, or McDonalds to such a distant warmer climate.

And so nature tells us the time and the season. We just need to listen more and to connect with greater spiritual awakening. We need to become closer to our earth and all of the other inhabitants who have as great an ownership as you and I to the earth beneath our feet, to the star-shimmering night skies and to the waters that give us life. Walk softly on the grasses, embrace all creatures big and small, respect the song heard in the wind, for you and I, my friend, are only one tiny beautiful dew drop.

In this new spring of your life, energize and through enormous effort, make it a great, outstanding, fantastic year! Peace to you.
